The TEMI Team has just delivered on a large construction project for the Ottawa City Fleet Depot in KZN.

During this project, community members from local areas including Parkgate, Zwelisha, Nigeria and Bethesda were included in a training programme facilitated between #teamtemi and Master Builders Association.

The aim of the training programme was to upskill TEMI employees and sub-contractors via on-the-job experience together with their General and Trade Certificates in order to increase their employability in the future.

The programme included all local TEMI employees, including 5 women and 3 local sub-contractors. 10 employees have received Trade Certificates and 19 employees have received General Skills Certificates.

The training disciplines included trade skills such as bricklaying, carpentry and concrete works as well as general skills such as applying health and safety in the workplace.

One local Bricklaying sub-contractor has been uplifted by TEMI and Master Builders Association by enabling their attendance at a Bricklaying Trade Course where future career guidance will direct them towards potentially becoming a Registered Bricklaying Tradesman.
