Temi Construction has completed the PEPFAR Infrastructure Improvement Project in the Eastern Cape. PEPFAR stands for: U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief
Scope:
Construction of 7 Clinics (Maluti, Imizizi, Mount Ayliff, Nozuko, Ngcobo, Ngangelizwe)
Project status:
Completed
October 2019 – May 2020
The team overcame challenges across 2,000km between Maluti, Imizizi, Mount Ayliff, Nozuko, Ngcobo and Ngangelizwe to enable better access to healthcare facilities for the surrounding communities. Built on behalf of Anova Health Institute, the new clinic buildings will be used for the treatment of Chronic Diseases which will help ease the pressure on the current healthcare system.
This project’s short duration gained traction thanks to the bricked foundation slabs and steel erected building components from our project stakeholder, Fabricated Steel Manufacturing.
Getting this project off the ground included local labour and artisans to ensure that we deliver on our objective – skills transfer within the community. The community was involved from the project’s inception and they were actively involved on each of the seven sites.
The team is pleased to report that we could safely deliver on this project, with quality workmanship, and establish further footprint in the Eastern Cape. We look forward to our next hospital and clinic construction in South Africa.
