I have learnt a lot at Temi Construction especially when it comes to Quantity Surveying and proper use of Excel. My mentor, Mr. Anthony Lulema has taught me to effectively work an excel spread sheet. Another thing that I have learnt at Temi Construction in the QS department is generating payment for subcontractors. At first, it was difficult as I was used to the theory of behind payment certs, generating payment for subcontractors, but Temi construction showed me the practical side of it which added value in my experiential learning program.
Temi Construction exposed me to people who were willing to help or assist on my experiential learning program. What I have learnt in the process is stocktaking which highlights control issues and areas where the Department needs to improve in order not to impact or exceed the budget. I would like to be one of Temi Construction’s employee since I see room for improvement.
